Traditional Chinese and Japanese Acupuncture
with Debbie Johnson

I trained at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I also studied with Kiko Matsumoto who is a master of Japanese Acupuncture.

This influence has become an important aspect of my work, using the ancient Chinese and Japanese techniques and gentle approach to needling, thus providing a unique approach to treatment.

I also offer dietary advice and can suggest ways to improve your diet.

What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?

T.C.M is a medical system which originated in China and Japan 5000 years ago and continues today to be of great benefit to health through the methods of Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Massage and Dietary Therapy.

How does it work?

The principle of T.C.M. is to maintain, or recover the body's physiological balance. The 'Qi' (or 'energy of the body'), should be strong and moving freely, and the organs should be functioning and in order. The 'Qi' circulates around the body through channels called 'Meridians'. Imbalances of this energy can be the cause or the result of illness. Balance of energy can be restored by stimulating appropriate Acupuncture points along the relevant meridians.
